Job Description

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing direction, coordination of the Operational aspects of the Club including: Hiring, Training, Sales Production, Reception Desk Systems, Personal Training Operation, Additional Paid Programing, Member Services, Employee Scheduling, Payroll and Human Resources compiling with the pre-determined company policies and procedures.  General Managers are also responsible for interviewing, employee training, planning, assigning and directing during as needed. Appraising performance of employees, rewarding employees and recommending discipline as needed. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Screen, interview, hire and train club employees as required.
  • Model all club activities through self-involvement (lead by example)
  • Demonstrate a high level of core values (Transparent, Energetic, Accountable and Member Focused)
  • Provide and maintain the highest level of customer service through all interactions. 
  • Responsible for meeting performance metrics and operational requirements (Club KPI’s), revenue, ordering, inventory, payroll, cost controls, maintenance and month end administration. 
  • Oversee Human Resources items at the club level in conjunction with the Club16 Trevor Linden Fitness policies and procedures. 
  • Assist in marketing the facility through community outreach programs and local public relations efforts. 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of sales experience
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience (Assistant Manager or higher)
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent business management certificate an asset
  • Fitness Certifications an asset
