Job Description
The Area Manager is a multi-faceted role that is responsible for all aspects of the performance of a defined set of studios: Vancouver – Yale Town, Toronto – Yorkville and Toronto – Queen W. The Area Manager is an entrepreneurial, hospitality-focused leader who thrives in a fast-paced, start-up environment. They embody and foster all aspects of the studio culture and core values. They are a strong team leader and driven to exceed targets and continuously grow both their teams and their studios.
Duties and Responsibilities
Own all aspects of managing and developing the talent within their studios, including:
- Leading and managing the studio managers and general manager team, ensuring exceptional candidates are recruited, developed, utilized and retained at all levels of their team.
- Coach studio managers and general managers in building, training and monitoring their guest experience member (GEM) teams, maintain excellent sales and hospitality skills at all levels of the team.
- Provide concise, honest upward and downward feedback int he appropriate channels to improve all aspects of your studio’s businesses, including talent development, programming, schedule optimization and business processes.
- Provide hands-on, immediate support in studios as needed for critical business initiatives, critical issue resolution and management transitions.
Work closely with the senior operations leadership to manager the day-to-day operations of your studios including:
- Running, analyzing and reporting on key performance indicators including sales, team utilization and retention, expenses, guest experience and payroll.
- Provide daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc reporting on all aspects of studio performance.
- Implement company-wide strategies, policies and procedures under the guidance of senior operations and leadership.
Working cross-functionally with central business divisions, such as working with marketing and sales to:
- Develop studio-specific initiatives and marketing strategies that drive studio traffic and seek to exceed goals.
- Foster relationships with the local health, fitness and wellness communities as well as key influencers and potential corporate partners to build the brand and community.

This role is a blend of being in studio 80% and admin, (which can be done remotely) 20%. This role also involves monthly travel to the Vancouver location.
